At The Kiln House, we’ve created a space where creativity and comfort come together. Tucked away in the heart of Ambleside in the Lake District, our studio is somewhere you can slow down, switch off, and enjoy getting creative.

Pick a piece, grab a drink, and settle in. Whether you’re painting your first mug or adding to a growing collection, there’s no pressure to get it “right” - just time to relax and enjoy the process. We’ll take care of the glazing and firing, so your finished piece is ready to collect later or can be delivered straight to your door.

Alongside the studio, our bar serves a thoughtful selection of wine, coffee, and a few carefully chosen drinks and snacks. It’s all about creating an easy, welcoming atmosphere where you can take your time, catch up with friends, or simply enjoy a quiet moment to yourself.

The Kiln House is for everyone - locals looking for a regular creative escape, visitors wanting to try something different, and anyone in need of a cosy spot on a rainy Lake District afternoon. Whether you’ve just come down from the fells or you’re easing into a slower evening, you’ll find a place here to sit, unwind, and make something that’s entirely your own.
